We needed a list of the best closed door books to grab on June 23rd, so here it is! This is a mix of Adult, N.A., and YA Romantasy/fantasy/PNR reads. *This event has passed, but I’m leaving this list up so we have a spot to find new books to read!*
I will add to this list as I find more books, so keep checking back. Each of the links below will probably show you my Amazon link for a paperback. Just click the kindle version.
Tip I learned for stuff your kindle events: scroll down to the “buy for $0.00” button if you have KU so it’s a permanent book in your Kindle Library and doesn’t use one of your KU borrows.
My Closed Door/ Fade to Black list is going to range from 🧁(clean, sweet romance) to 🫑 (steamy but not explicit)
Closed Door Romantasy I have read and LOVED:
Blessed By the Fae by Jada McCrary
The Lost Amulet by Jada McCrary
The Midwinter Queen by R.H. Linehan
Closed Door Romantasy I haven’t read yet, but I’m definitely grabbing:
* I have reached out to authors and read reviews to decide if these books are closed door or clean romance levels, but I haven’t read yet to verify myself*

Open Door/ Low Spice I haven’t read yet
* I added author’s response to help understand the spice level since I haven’t read these and they could be borderline closed door to low spice. But spice levels are subjective so read at your own risk.
Author says “So the door is open but it’s not overly explicit – so no instruction manual.”
The Call of the Sea by Kate Schumacher
A Song of Magic by Kate Schumacher
Author says there isn’t much spice, it’s maybe one chili pepper
Author says: Readers say 1-2 peppers. One scene on page with a focus on emotion.
The Timeless Trials by A.C. Guess
Author says this is a pretty low spice read (about one scene per book)
Liars and Light by Rebecca Camm
Author says low spice
Legends of Astrea by Sophia Alessandrini
Author says: There are two spicy scenes I think they’re pretty mild? Like 1.5/5?
Author says mild open door
Author says “low spice”
