Okay I absolutely LOVED this book! It’s such a great slow burn, high stakes dragon fighter Romantasy. You get a strong military leader MMC who is a legend among the base, but is also struggling with PTSD from previous battles and loss. The depth of this MMC and him having such a big heart in a broke soul… chefs kiss perfection. He may be my favorite MMC now. A strong FMC who is caring but also determined and brave. I love the big emotions and care between the MCs, even in the despair of unlikely hope. That slowwww burn comes with deep true sacrificial love that felt earned. Found family is perfection in this. Being there, trusting, relying, having a home in people.

The focus of the setting and plot is military intrigue, combat training, and research on dragons to win against the dragon. You will get a dark military base in a fantasy medieval feeling world. When the twists start twisting, tactical thinking has to evolve in order to survive.

Oh the feels that this story brings 🥺 There is the longing from an MMC who has venom taking over his body, there is loss and casualties in this war, and so much mystery around the dragon and leaders. And that ending had me screaming with excitement!!! Yesssss 🙌🏻 I absolutely love how this sets us up for book two and I cannot wait for that book 🙌🏻

Gives feels of Divergent and Fourth Wing, but is a unique setting and story from those. Honestly, this is the book I wanted Silver Elite to be. Not saying I didn’t like Silver Elite, but based on its marketing this is the book I wanted 🙌🏻
The MMC gives me Stephan (TVD) x Xaden feels with the tortured soul trying to save everyone, and I loved following his story.
