This book is absolutely incredible!! It has everything readers look for in a bookish hype sensation and so so much more ❤️🔥 Easily an instant top favorite read. Dragons? Yesssssss. High fantasy world filled with magic? Absolutely. Training and trials with squads? Check. Romance with swoon and tension and steamy feels? Double check!
The characters are perfection with all the tension and the mysterious identities. This is for the dystopian era readers that loved Tris and Four 🫠 Oh the feels this book put me through 🥺 You get a slow burn filled with longing, tension, and betrayal. A minor love triangle plays a big roll in the character dynamic between the MCs, but not in an angsty way.
Nicknames 🫠 He calls her ‘Spark’. He is dangerous to her but can’t stay away.
I love the found family and the dangerous rivals in the trials squad, the deadly trials, how dragons play into them, and how dragon shifters for into the world. Plus, there are magic elemental horses that are just as deadly as the dragons!! And you get a little relationship drama along the way. Such a fun read!!
That ending. Wow! Be ready for all the big feels!! I’ll just be over here waiting not so patiently for book two 😅
