Romantasy, YA Fantasy

Healer’s Blade by Kyrie Wang
I really enjoyed the storytelling in this historical fantasy. You follow a village healer’s apprentice and how she reluctantly ends up getting mixed up in the rebellion/revolt in a civil war. There may even be a mysterious rebel with a good heart that she gets too close to.
The FMC is a sweet young lady from the village. She is loyal to her king, but also has a big heart for helping and saving everyone she can… even if they are on the rebel side.
The MMC is a rebel knight who the FMC saves and he in turn saves her aka takes her against her wishes. He may be part of leading a rebellion, but he has a big heart and is a really sweet caretaker.
You get the uncertainty and danger of political intrigue mid-war and it’s hard to know which side is right. You get to decide that right there with the main character, too. It’s part of the mystery in this book.
This is a slow burn story with a slow burn sweet little romance that is budding in book one.
