Oh the feels this book brings! I giggled, I cried, I bit my nails. I was a little nervous to read this when the author said it was an emotional read, but I’m so glad I did! I loved how drawn the rule following golden retriever was to the free spirited black cat FMC. And how they were both there for each other in really hard times like grief and a sta!ker ex. This is a really sweet slow burn romance that starts out reluctant and melts over time. Resistant to closeness mixed with forced proximity and an unavoidable pull to each other. And when that slow burn starts burning, boy does it burn!! Oh, and the caretaking! All the super sweet and swoony caretaking.
This gave me some of feels that I loved from Safe Haven which I absolutely enjoyed. It was a wild emotional ride and I did end up sobbing while I was waiting in line to pick my kids up from school. Totally worth the pain though!! The slow burn really starts burning in the midst of the hard times and you get an earned HEA.
