A Stage Set for Villains by Shannon J Spann
π« Infiniti Stars π« This book might have just ruined me for every book that comes after π Such an Exciting read!! Dark and whimsical with the edge of a dystopian society. This gave me so many Once Upon a Broken Heart feels but with a darker whimsy. I LOVED the way the players are the god-like beings and the magic and power all around that. And ohhh did I have fun reading the MMC. Jude is mysterious with a deadly edge. Heβs mischievous and whimsical. The FMC is sassy and stabby and makes all sorts of irrational choices that left me on the edge of my seat π I so enjoyed the fun and playful enemies/hate banter. I had so many theories as I read which made for a thrilling reading experience. The characters have more depth and layers than I could have imagined and definitely never expected anything that came along.
I have never read a book with a more layered plot. And every layer was intricately and masterfully crafted. This is a masterpiece. The story has so much depth to the twists and that ending was really fitting for the story. That Encore was hard earned for the characters and us readers π
I donβt want to say too much more because spoilers and you want to experience the twists blindly. But this is a top favorite book for me!! This book left me in an existential crisis π€ and I LOVED it!
Audio is high quality and I loved it!
