This is a dark romance in a dark world. Not for the faint of heart, but such a good story! This feels like an episode of SVU from the inside POV: it pulls at your heart, people needing to be saved and people wanting to save them. You get a Capt!ve x Capt0r dynamic with a slow burn lust to love romance. The morally gray MMC is a darker Batman type, young politician. The FMC is a college student sold into this secret society. I love a good ‘he saves her’ kind of story a this delivered. That HEA was hard earned.
KP Haven is an auto read author for me and I loved this book just as much as the others. This is probably her darkest I’ve read and it reminds me of the feels in Debt of My Soul (which I loved).
