Wow! Talk about a powerful romantasy read!! I am left in such awe of this book. The way the author gave this FMC such a unique power that set her up to be used as a tool by the family and leaders who should have loved her, and a tool that set her us to use them in return. Her power is fed by lies, and seeing how this power allows her to interpret the motives and degree of lies through her magic really added a depth to the character dynamics that you don’t usually get to see in a single POV.

This FMC is a strong willed survivor and has not let the manipulation of her power and her as a person push her down. I LOVED watching how cleverly she planned and plotted, and how big her heart was throughout it all.

Lies are heavy and I was left feeling for her with the weight of the lies she carries.

The MMC was a refreshing twist on book boyfriends we don’t often get to see. He is strong willed, confident, and in a place of power, but does not have the training and the physical strength we normally get in a MMC. I loved his own version of strength and the way it made him vulnerable.

And on top of all the political intrigue over a throne (trials included), I LOVED Lady Whistledown feels sprinkled in there 😍

This is a top tier masterpiece, and I cannot wait for boom two.
