Oh my gosh I couldn’t love the MMC more 🥹 This is a darkish romance because they are both in captivity and harm has come to the FMC prior to him getting thrown in the prison with her. I love their connection, surviving together. He’s so protective and self-sacrificing to keep her safe. Their story is really special filled with broken to healing on both sides. He is strong and self sacrificing to keep her safe, and she is strong to carry him through emotionally breaking and finding himself again. All of this working the battle of the legions. Found family is so good in this too.
I love how Anna writes the shifter side of her characters in all her series. It really brings that animal, the emotions, and the emotional connection between the human and their animal to life. I’ve never experienced it described so well outside her books.
