The Fill-In Boyfriend by Kaysie West

YA Romance | High School

Standalone

This will always be my favorite YA romance read. It’s the first book that actually made me giggle and laugh out loud as I read it. The tension and the banter. Figuring out life and who they are. This is a great coming of age story about a girl from the mean girl group who starts seeing the pain it causes her to try and keep this perfect image. And also the pain she causes others by how her friend group acts.

She finds new unlikely allies through a last minute fake dating situation. The lies on top of lies that come from this cause quite the mess. But the outcome is better than she could have planned. There are growing pains in the friend group, but there is so so much healing through her new found family and boyfriend.

This book has fun twists and adorable moments.
