Oh my gosh I had so much fun reading this book! It’s a Christian mafia romance that also feels like reading a romcom. You can’t get any better than that. So you get a sweet, but edgy missionary who can’t resist a cute stray cat. And she ends up in the wrong place at the wrong time which leaves her with a hit out for her. Thankfully her clumsiness aids her in this game of cat and mouse between her and a mafia don’s son, which had me giggling the whole time. Also, you get a side plot going with an anonymous email penpal that adds feels of You’ve Got Mail into this story.
I have been wanting a no spice cat and mouse kind of dynamic and this did that so well! You get a soft, and conveniently clumsy FMC which made for a really humorous twist on the mafia enforcer watching security camera footage of her along the way 🤭
You get the best tension with the reluctant attraction between both of them and the inability to bring sweet caretaking when it should really be the opposite ☠️
While this does fit a true dark romance by definition, the humor lightens the feels for more of a dark romcom feel which I absolutely loved! We don’t get enough of that combo!
I have told every single person who gets within 6 feet of me about this book whether they asked or not 😂
I absolutely LOVE a Christmas romance that comes with real world grit and shines the light of faith in a dark world, and this book does this really well. This one is going on my favorites shelf.
